Esmond Place Proposal Announcement

We’re happy to announce the completion of our pilot project, the Esmond Place Proposal, the proposed redevelopment of a street median in Tenafly, NJ, a suburb of NYC.  The project calls for the conversion of the currently underutilized median into two community food gardens, a public lawn, and semi-enclosed community spaces. Moreover, the addition of rain gardens and use of local plants help ensure the creation of sustainable green spaces.

Through this proposal, we hope to help re-imagine how public spaces can function within suburbia, by encouraging greater community activities and restoring more natural landscapes.

Please feel free to contact us at info@massurban, if you have any comments or questions. A PDF copy of the project booklet will soon be available on our website as well.
